The Nature Conservancy is a global conservation organization dedicated to conserving the lands and waters on which all life depends. Guided by science, TNC works in 76 countries and territories and uses a collaborative approach that engages local communities, governments, tribes, the private sector, and other partners. Co-founded in 1956 by Rachel Carson, TNC Maine has helped protect almost 2.5 million acres and currently owns and manages more than 300,000 acres in the state.
